More CTR (Click Thru Ratio) means more clicks on your Google Ads. But, is CTR all about position and colors of your ads? No! It's a lot more than that. CTR also depends upon the quality of traffic, relevancy of ads, and even the subject of your website. Let's get in detail:

Do you own a High CTR website?

Yes! CTR varies from Industry to industry too. It depends upon the keywords you are using to make your web page. It has been observed that more technical the topic is (but not necessarily) less CTR it will give you (for example Search Engine Optimization, Affiliate Network - exceptions are always there), but still works if the Ad content is well written.

However, this is only one condition; there are many undiscovered conditions that affect the CTR of keywords. At times, a particular season also has an effect on the performance of keywords. For example family of 'Turkey recipe' keyword is more active around November and December only and a quite sluggish rest of the year. It becomes really necessary to study the behavior of keywords before starting a massive website of Adsense around a topic.

Your Ad Position and Color: Old, but very effective

Google heat map helps improve the CTR (Clicks Thru Ratio) of your website by suggesting you the most converting areas for your Adsense Ads. You can have a glance at the Google's Survey that illustrates the ideal placements of ads on your web page.
https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html#17954

Darker the area, better will be the performance of your ads. Your visitor tends to click on these darker areas more often than the other areas of the web page. Ads placed near rich content usually do well because users are focused on those areas of your web page. For example, on pages where users are typically focused on reading an article, ads placed directly below the concluding part of high quality content tend to perform well, as the visitors are left with no other choice except clicking the Ad block.

Get Targeted Traffic - The Most Essential Part

Traffic that is interested in your content (also called targeted traffic) is interested in your ads too. Thus, there is every likelihood that your ads will be clicked more frequently. Targeted traffic means more CTR, more earnings, and enhanced ad convertibility. On the other hand, the untargeted visitors are not interested either in your content or your ads, so keep your website's traffic targeted.

You can gather highly targeted traffic for your website by web promotion strategy and effective optimization of your web page structure. Effective web promotion strategy requires an appropriate Anchor text and more back links from relevant websites. And, to develop an effective web page structure, you have to optimize your Title Text, internal linking of your website, and most importantly your web content, in the best possible manner.

Choose the Right Anchor Text for Back Link Campaigns

Choosing the right anchor text for back links promotes your website to the traffic you exactly need from the search engines. Choose the Anchor text that directly speaks to your visitors and pulls the traffic that your web page requires. Targeted traffic results in increased CTR of ads. It helps promote your website to that segment of traffic, which is precisely searching for your content (or you can say the traffic that is most profitable to you). Targeting irrelevant keyword reduces your CTR by gathering the traffic which is not interested in your content or ads.

Wisely Choose the Title Text of Your Web Page

Title text of your webpage appears in the SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) as the Title link to your web page. Therefore, it is the title Text that directly speaks to the surfer on SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) about your content's theme. It acts like a Free Advertisement Link to your website. If your title text does not interest the surfer, you lose considerable amount of much-needed traffic. Figure out a Title text that directly communicates with your potential visitors, brings targeted traffic, and enhances the CTR of your AdSense Ads. Don't overdo your title text, and use less than ten keywords in your title text.

Help Google Detect the Theme of Your Web Page

There are many on-page and off-page elements that affect your ad relevancy. Better targeted ads increase both your CTR and EPC. Here is how to optimize your ads:

Meta Tags

If there is NO CONTENT on your web page, the Google Mediabot will consider the Meta Tags while displaying ads. Meta tags have a considerable affect on the relevancy of your ads. It is advised never to leave this space empty. Also, try to make it as easy as possible for Mediabot to understand the theme of your web page.

Title Text

Google Mediabot gives good weightage to the keywords used in the Title text, which in turn gets reflected in your ads. Choose effective keywords for your Title text. Even the order of words in a keyword can affect the ads that are appearing on your web page. So, choose your keywords wisely.

Headings

Google Mediabot gives importance to the Heading text enclosed in,tags present in your web page. After Title text, here is another chance for you to dictate keywords to Google Mediabot.

Boost Relevancy Artificially - Use Google's Section Targeting

Now, you can enhance Ad relevancy by using Google's Section targeting. Using this technique you can advise Google mediabot about the areas of your content which should be considered or ignored while matching the Ads with your content.

Use Channels for Analyzing Your Ads' Performance

Try to relate your traffic logs with your CTR stats. You will get to know which Traffic source is giving you what CTR. This will help you recognize the traffic segment which is most converting for your website. Channels allow you to analyze your ads' performance, so that you can pin point the changes that your website needs to boost your AdSense income. There are two types of channels available - URL Channels and Custom Channels. You can use the URL channel to track your performance, without modifying your Ad code. Through URL channels, you can analyze the performance of individual page or a group of pages, based on the directory system of your website.

Custom channels can help you measure the performance of different Ad formats presented in your web pages. And, by pasting channel-specific ad code into your pages, you can track CTR, Impressions, number of clicks each individual ad format is generating, and compare its performance with other web pages.

Block Junk Websites and Competitor Websites from Showing Ads

There are many junk websites that might be displaying ads on your website. These websites steal the traffic from your website and recycle it on their own Adsense ad blocks. Recognize such websites and stick them in Adsense Competitive Ad filter. Also, you can block your competitor websites using this competitive filter.

This trick can sometimes double or triple your Adsense income, augment user experience, and makes look your Google ads more genuine. For more information about this tool, visit:

Adsense is probably the most popular PPC (Pay-Per-Click) advertising available to blogs. More blogs use Adsense than proper punctuation!

I read a lot of other blogs, forums, and articles about bloggers that simply hate Adsense. Why? BECAUSE THEY DON’T KNOW HOW TO USE IT EFFECTIVELY! They trash Adsense because of their lack of success (lack of research would be a better phrase)… even though it generates TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS monthly to those that know how to use it correctly.

Adsense 101 is out the door. Let’s really learn how to make some money with Adsense!

1. Learn to blend your ads.

  • Learn to use colors effectively. The idea is to make the ads appear to be a natural part of your site. Don’t be the guy/girl that uses the lime green text on an orange background because he thinks that it “catches the eye”. It Does! It catches the eye long enough to feel nausea coming on.
  • Never use the “border” option! If you use a border, are you really blending your ads? It’s kind of like building a prison for your ads using a 2px line as bars. Using a banner just screams “Here are my ads. Don’t look at them!”
  • Don’t ever segregate ads. Don’t put them in their own section of the page. Don’t have 9 affiliate buttons followed by an Adsense banner. How effective is it for advertising if you throw all of your ads in one section of your sidebar? Why have them at all? This advertising strategy (or lack thereof) causes what’s referred to as “link-blindness”. If people can easily spot your ads as soon as they find your site, they learn to avoid them. And never… ever… put them all by themselves at the bottom of the page. FACT: Most readers never make it to the bottom of your page!

2. Put your ads in high profile areas.

  • Use the Google “heatmap” (pictured below) to help you determine where the best spots are to place Adsense code. The best area is right above content. The orange areas are hot zones, the yellow is mild, and the white is ice cold. This will vary blog-by-blog but it’s a good general indication of what works.

google heatmap hot zones

  • I see a lot, and I mean A LOT of sites thinking they can hide their ads in the bottom left corner of the page and still make good money from Adsense. When it comes to ads, either do it… or don’t. Don’t go hiding ads in the bottom corner and then complaining that Adsense sucks and you aren’t making any money.

3. Track your ads performance.

  • A lot of people either forget about this one, or don’t realize it exists. You can track your ads performance by creating a channel for it. If you need a tutorial on how to create an Adsense channel, check out this video at Tubetorial.Com for more info.
  • I have channels for every different location, style, and color type ad that I have experimented with. For example, I can check right now and see what is more effective, a 160×600 sidebar banner, or a 125×125 button. You need to know this stuff!

4. Use the competitive ad filter.

  • Did you know that some Adsense clicks are worth as little as $0.01? Use the competitive ad filter to stop this!
  • The competitive ad filter was created to target spam advertisers and MFA (made for adsense) sites. You have all seen this, I guarantee it. They are the sites that you visit on accident when looking for another site. They might look like a search engine with some ads all around about a specific subject such as baseball, blogging, vacationing, jobs, etc. These are all MFA sites. They bid low and get clicks to their site for as little as a penny!
  • By using the filter, you can block these sites from advertising on your blog. In your Adsense control pannel simply click on the “Competitive Ad Filter” tab and enter the URL you wish to block. It’s that easy. Most of the time you’ll be able to tell it’s a MFA site by the content in the ad. If it seems like a list of some sort, more often than not, it’s an MFA site.

5. Use section targeting.

  • This is one that I didn’t even know existed until a few days ago. Adsense targets keywords in your text and matches them with an ad. For example, you may notice if you blog about golf, you’ll have golf related ads. The key to getting targeted ads on Adsense is writing keyword rich content. This means that you need to think of a word or phrase you would use if you were searching for this article on Google. Try to use that keyword or phrase as much as possible, without becoming too repetitive and Google will pick that up and match it to relevant ads.
  • You can also use this bit of code on posts in which you only want to target a certain part of. For example, you are talking about golf… but there is a quick story about your car having a flat on the way to the golf course. Without using this code, Google might target your site with golf related ads, or it might decide that you need ads about getting new tires. You can stop this by using these section targeting ads.

Talk about your flat tire here…

Put your keyword rich content here.

  • Using at the beginning of the section you want to target and at the end of the targeted section will ensure that Google delivers relevant ads to your site. If you are using Wordpress software, simply type out your entry - click on the “code” tab - and add these tags to the section you want to target. Easy!
Above all else I recommend experimenting. What works for other site might not necessarily work for yours. Try different ad sizes, shapes, and colors. Put them in your post, above your post, in the sidebar. Just try new things until you find what works for you. But remember… track your experiments so that you’ll know what works!

Did you like to make one tiny addition to your web pages and increase the chances of getting the AdSense ads clicked by up to three times?

It's absolutely very simple, yet the effect can be very immediate.

All you need is to get some colorful digital photographs, either from your own stock or from a royalty free web site. Then using a graphics program, such as Real Draw PRO or Photoshop, create a strip of four rectangular photographs with a space in between each. The overall size of the strip should be 728 pixels wide by about 108 pixels deep. The size of the pictures should be about 140 pixels wide by whatever depth you choose for the picture strip.

The content of the pictures should be relevant to the content of your web site. In order not to violate Google's Terms Of Service, you should avoid pictures that are animated, advertisements or induce the visitor to click on the AdSense ads. If you are in any doubt, take a look at the ads on my web site or check with Google's Terms Of Service.

The background color should exactly match the color of your AdSense pages. It helps if you can place a narrow blue border around the individual photo (but not around the entire strip). This arrangement is ideal for a page containing an article and the best position within the page for the picture strip is at the top of the page, immediately below the page headline, but above the start of the body text.

Once you have done this, go to your Google AdSense advert codes and select the one for leaderboard, which is 728 pixels wide by 90 pixels deep. If the 728 pixel width sounds vaguely familiar, it's the exact width of your picture strip. Make sure you delete the border before pasting your leaderboard code under the picture strip, save the page and load it to your server and start enjoying up to three times the clicks on that style of ad.

If you already have the maximum number of three AdSense blocks on the pages, where you insert this picture strip/leaderboard combo, do be sure to delete one of the existing ad groups, so you don't violate Google's Terms Of Service, which only allow three ad blocks per page.

Google AdSense program has made it easier for webmasters and bloggers to make money through a website or a blot. Webmasters or bloggers who run an AdSense campaign will display Google's contextual Ads relevant to the content of their web sites and thus encouraging visitors to click the ads and earn money for each ad when somebody click.

However you will earn little AdSense revenue if you don't know how to optimize your AdSense ads on your website or blog. Here are some tips to increase your AdSense income:

1. Focus on one Adsense ad format. The Large Rectangle (336X280) ad format seems to work better than other ad formats because this format tends to result in higher click through rates (CTR). Another reason is that the ads will look like normal web links that visitors use to click on them. It doesn't matter whether the visitors know that they are clicking AdSense ads or not, as long as there are clicking, you earn AdSense commission.

2. Create a custom palette for your ads. Select a color that matches your website's or blog’s background. If your site's background is white both, the color of ad border and background should set to be white too. Also the color of the ad title should be similar to coloe of the links in your website. This is to make your AdSense ads look like it is part of the web pages. Again, this will boost AdSense CTR.

3. Don't place your AdSense ads at the bottom of your pages because it is proven to be less effective. Displaying your AdSense ads at the bottom is like hiding your AdSense and thus leads to low CTR and AdSense revenue. Try to put them in the place where the people can see them quickly (I think Right side of the top is better way). You will be amazed how the difference between AdSense locations can make when you see your earnings.

4. Try to place your AdSense ads near the rich content or the banners as visitors main focus usually are your content. There are several ways to insert AdSense ads into your content and one of the ways is place your AdSense just after the end of your content.

5. Try to automate the insertion of your AdSense code into the pages using SSI (or server side included). Ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI or not. How do you do it? Just save your AdSense code in a text file, name it as “AdSense text”, and upload it to the root directory of the web server. Then use SSI, call the code on other pages. This tip is a time saver especially for those who are using automatic page generators to generate pages on their website.

These are some of the tips that have worked well for some who want to generate hundreds and even thousands on their websites. There are other ways to optimize your AdSense that produce high CTR also. You can learn more tricks by reading in AdSense and webmaster forums.v

1. Adsense Ads placed above the fold tend to perform better than those below the fold. A 728x90 ad under your title or header graphic is a good place for a google adsense ad.
2. Adsense Ads placed near rich content and navigational aids usually do well because users are focused on those areas of a page the most effective.
3. Google Adsense Ads that are merged within the content, like the ads you see on the right hand column, and it will perform very well.
4. You must should make your Google Adsense ads look as a part of your web page. They shouldn't look like an advertisement. Users search the internet for content, not ads.
5. In order to know how effective a specific website or blog or ad placement is use distinct channels. This will allow you to discern what performs best on a specific website or blog. Using the channels will tell you what sites are making money, what the advertisements are making money and what ad position is the most profitable on a specific website.
6. You must have to adjust your font face and font size to look similar to the Google Adsense ads. Adsense advertisements are usually in Arial, 11px.
7. Test First! Only by tweaking your adsense ads, changing the sizes, colors and locations, can you actually see what works best for your specific site.

I am Seshu born on 15-11-1973 at a small village i.e, Madanapalle of India. I was studied upto SSC very well and passed in first division. After that I joined Inter in CEC. But I am not interested in these subjects. I like to study mathematics. But I could not get seat in this subject that’s why I joined in CEC. Due to not interest to study these subjects, and also having age like enjoying, I enjoyed my college life while watching adult movies, playing cricket, enjoying with friends and didn’t attended my classes and failed in 3 subjects. My parents scolded me. After that I hurtfully and challengingly joined in other college and took my favourate subject i.e., Mathematics. In that college my life has completely changed into wrong way. I started smoking, drinking also. Atleast I didn’t attended my exams due to non availability of my number in examination hall. I didn’t told these all to my parents and as usually I starts from my home for exam and went a place where I usually with my friends. Someday and after the results my parents went to college and gathered all the information about my presence of classes and known all the facts and seriously scolded me and beaten me and keep it to beaten everyday and didn’t allowed me to attend my typewriting classes too. One day I asked my mom for fee amount to pay in my typing institute. I got very much disappointment on that day and I decided to SUICIDE.
On that day in the afternoon my mom went to others home and my dad went to school. Ohh, I forgot to say about my dad. My dad is a Government Teacher. He very much loves me. He had high confident about me in all aspects not only in studies. But I have ashamed that I fooled my parents. Twice I had tried to attempt suicide while hanging my neck to the roof, but I could not able to do this with fear. On the afternoon of that day nobody in my home and I got a poison bottle which is kept to use for the trees in my home. I pour it in the glass and started to drink. It is in bluish color. Just 5 ml of the poison went into my throat and suddenly started to burn my throat and closing my eyes. I went infront of the mirror and showed myself. It is going to blurring; I could not able to see my face clearly. Ohh. It is really very very painful.

I ran to my neighbor house and called aunty and told her that I took poison. Suddenly they called auto and bring me to hospital. There in hospital the doctor let me drink some salt water and removed all the poison from my stomach and admitted me in the hospital. But I am in unconscious for almost 6 days. I could not able identify anybody. I was completely on the bed. They put a catheter into my penny for my urination. After my recovery and before the discharging a male nurse brings me into room and tried to remove the catheter but it didn’t coming. He used to inject the water into the catheter for free removing from my penny. While injecting the water into the catheter a sound has came like tap. He didn’t tell me what happened while removing the catheter. He simply told me that you may go now. BUT AFTER TWO YEARS I KNOWN THAT WHAT HAPPENED ON THAT TIME WITH THAT STUPID MALE NURSE.

I was struggled very much while urinating. Its very slow flow and sometimes very much painful in my penny. I too didn’t took care about this matter and lived and hold all my painful feelings inside me. One day after two years I started to journey to my cousins home while sitting in the last seat of the bus. The road is very bad to that village. My body has completely shacked in the journey and I could not able to control my urine. When I feel that I have to urinate I must have to run away to bathroom. I went for doctor in my place and he could not able to find, what happening. He advised for big hospital. I went to SVIMS Tirupati for better advice. They scanned my pennies and watched inside in the monitor and found that something is stricken inside it. OHHH My God !!!!! They shocked and then only I understand that these all happened because of that STUPID Male Nurse. He left a little bit of catheter inside my penny !!!!!! while removing the catheter when I was admitted in the hospital.

But the SVIMS doctors has removed it with minor operation and after 5 days I was discharged from this hospital. After this my urine flow is normal and felt happy. I lived happily for almost 7 years while doing job in a Government Sector as Typist cum computer operator as temporarily. I worked very hardly at day and nights with some inconveniences like bad smell of sweat and some viruses in the skin. Again I started to struggle with my body in the year 2002. Having joint pains, weakness, anxiety, fear, suddenly getting sweat. Ohh. It could not append to any body even to my enemy. I stopped my job and started to run to the hospitals. I went many big hospitals like CMC, Manipal, St.Johns, Apolo in every department in the hospital. No one doctor has diagnosed my disease and they let me to spend huge amounts. They done all investigations like X-rays, Blood tests, Scanning etc., but no use. I ran to Kerala for Ayurvedic treatment for one month and I leaved my place and also my family too also and spend more money. But no use.

Finally again I found a hospital in Tirupati by name Ramdevi Multi Specialty Hospital and I was consulted a doctor by name Radhakrishna Reddy, Senior most Neuro Surgeon has diagnosed my disease has Poly Arthralgia and also as Cervical Sodalities THANK GOD. God!!!! Three disks are spoiled in my neck. THESE ALL HAPPENED DUE TO KEPT THE BIT OF CATHETER INSIDE MY PENNY BY THAT STUPID MALE NURSE. Virus has formed into my body and caused joint pains, anxiety all these. This doctor has started treatment and advised me that “ YOU HAVE TO USE MEDICINES FOR 2 TO 3 YEARS” for to remove the virus. Now am running my own Internet CafĂ© and doing my works and every month going to check up of my health using medicine regularly. If God will bless me I will completely cure from this ill health. This is my story of sadness.
